ATRA NOW IN THE WEST
Sunday 27th November 2011 saw the first ATRA sanctioned event in WA which was held at Trevor Jeffrey’s Arena in Ravenswood, south of Perth. While numbers were relatively small the enjoyment and enthusiasm of the competitors was clearly evident.
The # 7 Roping was won by the ladies team of Melissa Maxwell and Elise Croft with Glen Potter and Tammy Kinney coming in second. The #9 roping was won by Glen Potter & Duane Fuller with Glen again coming in second with Elise Croft.
The breakaway was won by Robyn McKellar with 7.96 seconds on 3 head. Rope and Tie saw Jayden Boulton take out first place. Steer Wrestling was won by Phil Jeffrey and Ladies Barrels were won by Mel Maxwell with second place going to Bronwyn Hill.
This move into WA now makes this truly a National competition. WA will hold a further 3 ropings and a regional finals set for May 2012.
