𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗥𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝘂𝗻 𝗔𝗧𝗥𝗔 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟲?

Ian and Netta Wharton were part of a small group of like-minded people who initiated the inception of the Australasian Team Roping Association (ATRA). Since those days of half a dozen people supporting their vision, the world of Team Roping in Australia has blossomed.

These days, a large team of family and close friends co-ordinate their talents for Thornhill Roping and conduct Development Days and professionally run events each month at the Wharton family farm. This includes their signature events such as the 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘀𝗲𝘆𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟱 & 𝟮𝟲 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 $𝟮𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗵 & 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗯𝘀 - and the 𝗝𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿.

The Wharton, Lillyman and Swain connection is passionate about developing the sport of Team Roping in Australia and not a week goes by that someone is being encouraged to join the fun in the Thornhill Arena.
